In 2006, Barclays Bank announced a range of measures that would make its branches more accessible and user friendly. The most eye catching initiative was the Bank’s decision to replace the old “black pen on a chain” with bright blue pens that have messages encouraging customers to use them and take them home if they wish.
Specifying, sourcing and delivering 45,000,000 pens is no small undertaking. Working with Barclays, Banner identified a cost-effective supplier and put in place the necessary commercial and operational arrangements to make it happen. The project was delivered on-time and on-budget.
