New statistics released by the Health and Safety Commission (HCE) reveal 30 million working days were lost in the last twelve months due to ill health.
Geoffrey Podger, Chief Executive of the Health and Safety Executive (HSE) said “The statistics indicate that last year alone in Great Britain 2.2 million people suffered from work related illnesses.” Around three quarters of the cases were musculoskeletal disorders (primarily upper limb or back problems) or due to stress, depression and anxiety.
