In the workplace

We are committed to ensuring that during their employment with Banner, we develop our employees, satisfy them, recognise their diversity and create a safe and healthy environment for them to work in.

Employees

Employee development is important to Banner’s success.  We use a variety of methods to meet the development needs of the individual, from in-house courses and mentoring to job shadowing and supporting professional qualifications.

We maintain an open and constructive dialogue with our employees through quarterly newsletters and an employee suggestion scheme, as well as an online staff questionnaire designed to capture employees’ views on a wide-range of issues.

Health & Safety

We are committed to ensure the health, safety and welfare of our employees.  All employees receive health and safety awareness training. Our senior operations managers now hold British Safety Council Level Two certificates in health and safety and all of our delivery drivers must undertake an internet-based road safety assessment before they are allowed to drive.

External assessors audit all of our company sites, each of which has been audited twice.  The second audit confirmed that each site had improved considerably and the Group surpassed the industry sector average in the prevention of accidents and ill health. Our Health and Safety Advisor also carries out regular assessments of all our sites and there are Health and Safety Committees at each of our premises.
